NURTURING OUR ENVIRONMENT
For 125 years, High Liner Foods has thrived on nature’s abundance, and we’re committed to nurturing this bond for future generations to come. It’s what sustains our business, our communities, and life on Earth.
Reducing waste is central to our climate action strategy, lowers costs, and preserves natural resources.
In 2019, we launched our
food waste goal to reduce food waste intensity 50% by 2030.
Climate change poses critical risks to our environments, people, and communities—impacts like warming oceans, acidification, severe storms, and evolving regulations. At High Liner Foods, we’re committed to being part of the solution.
We’re proud to report a 7.15% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, a step toward our 30x30 goal of reducing Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions 30% by 2030(compared to 2021).
We also completed our first Scope 3 GHG inventory, a measure of the emissions resulting indirectly from our supply chain.
We support Fishery Improvement Projects (FIPs) to tackle some of the toughest challenges that exist in fisheries today. These initiatives bring together important players like fishers, processors, importers, governments, and buyers, to drive meaningful change in the seafood supply chain.
